John’s photography services were outstanding! John is a true professional and performed beautifully in photographing my girlfriend’s dog as a special Christmas gift for her. The final product – photographs printed on high quality paper and very nicely framed! I highly recommend John and Yeatman Photography!

Dog Photography

Studio or On-Location

Professional photography of your dog in a fun and loving way! We take time to get acquainted and comfortable before I ever press the shutter. I use lots of treats, tennis balls, and other assorted tricks to get our pups into the perfect positions. And, don’t worry. We take breaks along the way keeping the stress levels down. During the session, I get great shots of your dog but then the real fun begins!

FAQ

What if my dog never sits still… how do you handle this?

In my experience, given the proper attention and motivational reward, I have been able to capture those split seconds in between movements. Sometimes we even get some cool unintended poses through stop action that make great prints, too. I wouldn’t worry about this too much. Most dogs are happy to be here so they wag their tails and move around, and that’s cool, too! I’ll get ’em!

Do I need to have my dog groomed before our session?

Preferably, yes, but it’s not required. I would rather have you see your dog like you mostly see them, so it’s your call. If a fresh cut is the best look for them then by all means, go for it a week or a few days before our session. A good bath never hurt anyone though 😉

How long is a dog photoshoot?

Usually, I can get the shots we need in under an hour. For more elaborate sets or concepts, we make take longer. Again, we do take little breaks along the way to keep stress levels down in any case.

How do I choose the photographs I want to purchase?

Image selections are done one of two ways. One, we look at them together at the end of the session, and make selections. This is the quickest and most efficient way to select. Or two, a private online gallery can be made available if time is short.

When and how do I pay for my images?

Once you’ve chosen your favorites, they can be paid for with any major credit card.

How soon do I get my images?

Final images are available within 7 business days and sent via email. Enlargements and wall art pieces are usually 2-4 weeks to deliver.

How do you make a final image?

I custom edit all of the selections myself for color, tone, and removal of distractions such as stray hair, excess saliva, eye mucus, etc. I extend the editing to clean up backgrounds as well. All of the images you see on this website are the look and feel of final images that you select and purchase.
